Miami does not have a subway system. But, they do have a system called MetroRail. The reason for not having a subway is because Miami is located on the same level as the sea, so having this system would be under water. MetroRail is on the above ground rail, which still has limited stations, but is expanding from time to time. It connects the most important parts of the country, like South Miami, the downtown part and Coral Gables, where the University is located. On the other hand, it is a quick and easy transportation system which is open from 5:00 am till midnight, every day. It is an easy and cheap way to get to the town from Miami International Airport. The railway lines are in different colors, so it is easy to find out where the route goes. Along each route, there are many stops along Museums, parks, and gardens, Coconut Grove, Lyric Theater and more. There is also a downtown express, which connects Dadeland South and Government Center. It leaves the station 2 times in the morning and 2 times in the evening.
